Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR):Offers excellent oil resistance, providing good tolerance to petroleum-based oils, animal, and vegetable oils. It also possesses good wear resistance and anti-aging properties. The typical operating temperature range is from -40°C to 120°C.
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM):Features strong water resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, with excellent tolerance to water, steam, acids, alkalis, and other chemicals. It also exhibits superior weather resistance. The operating temperature range is from -50°C to 150°C.
Fluoro-Rubber (FKM/Viton):Boasts extremely high heat resistance, allowing for long-term use in high-temperature environments above 200°C. It also offers excellent chemical and solvent resistance, tolerating various highly corrosive media. However, the cost is relatively higher.
Silicone Rubber (VMQ):Provides good low-temperature performance, remaining soft and elastic even at -60°C or lower. It also exhibits good electrical insulation and physiological inertness (suitable for food/medical applications).
Structural Classification
Non-protruding Gaskets:These gaskets have a simple structure with a flat surface, making installation convenient. They are suitable for plate heat exchangers operating under low pressure and relatively simple working conditions.
Protruding Gaskets:These gaskets are designed with various raised structures (such as round, square, or wave shapes). These protrusions increase the contact pressure between the gasket and the plate, thereby enhancing sealing performance. They are suitable for plate heat exchangers operating under medium to high pressure conditions.
